Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen today launched the Cherangany Unity Cup in Makutano Primary School in Cherangany, Trans-Nzoia County.
The tournament, which will run for over a month, features 112 football teams and 63 volleyball teams from all seven wards in the constituency, with big prizes up for grabs.
The initiative, sponsored by the CS, is geared towards bringing the people of the multi-ethnic constituency together, nurturing sporting talent and keeping the youth away from alcohol and substance abuse.
Present were Kericho County Governor Dr. Erick Mutai, Trans Nzoia County Senator Allan Chesang, Kiminini MP Kakai Bisau, Trans-Nzoia County Commissioner Gideon Oyagi, among other county and national leaders.
